Food intolerance is a genuinely confusing area, partly because the language is used loosely. “Allergy”, “intolerance” and “sensitivity” describe different things with different levels of evidence behind them, and the testing options range from NHS blood tests to home kits with no clinical backing at all.
These guides set out the differences in plain English, including where our own hair screening does and does not have evidence behind it. We would rather you understood the limits before you buy than felt misled afterwards.
If you only read one, make it the guide to how hair testing works — it is the most honest account of what the method can and cannot tell you.
A note on what this is. Our hair screen is an exploration tool, not a medical or allergy test. It cannot diagnose a condition, and it is not a substitute for advice from your GP. Please speak to your GP about persistent symptoms.
